The Dick Munkres American Legion Post 287 in Savannah, Missouri is comprised of The American Legion, The American Legion Auxiliary, The Legion Riders and The Sons of The American Legion and you can become a member of one or more of these units.
As a member of the American Legion Family, you would have the opportunity to help other veterans and their families. In addition, participate in an array of local Community Service and Charitable projects that have a direct impact on the lives of the people in our community. The Dick Munkres American Legion Post 287 was chartered on April 17, 1920 and has grown into a complete American Legion Family. Its members are dedicated to the missions and ideals of the American Legion.
One of the primary missions of the American Legion is to make sure that our veterans and their families receive the support and recognition they deserve.
Every member of our organization is a wartime veteran. We know how important it is to receive the support of our fellow citizens during and after our military service.
We are also dedicated to a vast array of local community service projects, such as sponsoring students to attend Boys and Girls State, Junior Law Cadets, Scholarships, and school supply donations just to name a few.
